It's time to nominate club officers for 2003

It's that time again. Time to nominate new club officers for the year 2003 dive season. All nominations for club offices must be presented by the May 6 club meeting. The nominations will be recorded, and voting ballots will be distributed to all club members by no later than May 13.
Completed voting ballots must be turned in at our June 3 meeting. The vote will be tallied, the new officers will be announced, and they will take office at that time.

ELIGIBILITY FOR OFFICE
A potential candidate must be a certified scuba diver with a minimum certification level of Open Water Diver in order to hold the office of Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
A potential candidate must be a certified scuba diver, with a minimum certification level of an Advanced Open Water Diver, to hold the office of the President.
Any club member may hold the office of Historian.

DMAV Raffle Kitty has yet to be taken!

Each club meeting now includes a raffle that club members may participate in. Raffle tickets cost $1 per ticket (or 3 tickets for $2). Half of the funds from the raffle are placed in the Raffle Kitty. The other half is used by the DMAV to help fund special club activities for all club members.
At the end of each meeting, a raffle ticket is drawn, and the lucky holder of that ticket stub wins $10.
In addition, the winner selects one card at random from a deck of cards. If they select the Queen of Hearts, they win all the monies in the Raffle Kitty. If the Queen of Hearts is not drawn, the selected card is discarded from the deck . Both the deck and the Raffle Kitty are saved for next month's lucky winner.
Last month's winner was Chanee Hall, but the Queen eluded her, so the kitty is still growing. Make sure to attend our next meeting, and you could be the next lucky winner!

Morehead City, N.C. diving trip tentatively scheduled for October.

|
|
|
Club members voted on the first weekend in October for our dive trip to Morehead City. This will correspond with the local seafood festival, that provides fun activities above the water line while Olympus Dive Center provides fun down under. Last years trip was very enjoyable, providing divers experiences with large sea turtles, green moray eels, and octopus. This is sure to be a fun weekend so contact Chris at 826-3945 and sign up now.
