2002 Club Cookout and Treasure Hunt at Lake Rawlings

The 2002 dive club cookout has been scheduled for June 1 - 2 (Saturday & Sunday) and will be held at the Lake Rawlings Quarry.

The cookout committee volunteers are :

Please feel free to contact any of these club members or Jim Cook with any suggestions or requests for the cookout.  Additional volunteers are always welcome.

Dives of Special Interest

  • Dry Suit Experience at Lake Rawlings.  Experience dry suit diving for a day.  $100.  April 20 or 21.
  • Catalina Island / Santa Barbara, California         
    May, 2002                      Information to follow.
  • Little Cayman           March 2-9, 2002        $2100 includes airfare, accommodations at Little Cayman Beach Resorts, all meals and 3 dives per day.
  • Roatan Honduras     March 30 to April 6   $1799 includes airfare, accommodations at the Coco View Resort, 4 boat dives per day and 3 meals per day.
  • Grand Bahamas     Memorial Day Weekend     
    May 23 - 27              $835.00  includes airfare, accommodations at the Bahamia, Country Club, standard room, and a 6 dive package.   Payment in Full by March 23.       
    After March 23:             $885.00.  Accommodations at the Pelican Bay:  $945 per person.

The cost to each member for the cookout is $20 / day which includes the cost of admission to Lake Rawlings and a DMAV Treasure Hunt and cookout.

The Treasure Hunt will have many activities and prizes for the winners (limit one prize per person).   Additional information will be provided as available.

2002 Christmas Party is scheduled

At our February 7 meeting, the date for our 2002 Christmas party was set for Saturday, December 7, 2002.  It is sure to be a fun

Party will be held at the home of Ed and Sharon Acton.  Directions and additional information will be provided in future newsletters.  Make sure to read in this

time and is a great opportunity to enjoy the diving stories of the 2002 dive season.  As always, we will have our annual photography contest, so start planning those pictures now.  The 2002 Christmas

newsletter for new photo contest rules.  We have expanded our categories and provided more photo opportunities for members.
