Club Picnic at Lake Rawlings August 18

The 2001 dive club cookout has been scheduled for August 18 - 19 (Saturday - Sunday) and will be held at the Lake Rawlings Quarry.

Second Trip to Hatteras

Missed the recent trip to Hatteras , NC? 

The club members that attended the trip have all reported having a great time.  The water temperature on the Dixie Arrow dive was a wonderful 81 degrees all the way down to the bottom of the 85- foot dive.  Sharks, LARGE barracuda (they grow them big down there), Christmas Tree worms, nudibranc, and sea cucumbers were among the many varieties of sea life to be enjoyed.

hristine Shourot is scheduling a new trip aboard the charter boat , Bayou Runner in Cape Hatteras, NC  This will be a two-tank wreck dive on the Dixie Arrow and the F.W. Abrams..   

The trip is scheduled for September 30, 2001  Call to sign up  now!

The cost to each member for the cookout is $20 / day which includes the cost of admission to Lake Rawlings and a DMAV Treasure Hunt.

The Treasure Hunt will have many activities and prizes for the winners.  Additional information will be provided as available.

DIVEMASTERS Association members  can sign up for a Labor Day Weekend trip to Grand Bahama and dive with Bob Shourot and Jim Cook .  The $782.59 trip includes a 6 dive package, airfare from Richmond, accommodations at the Bahamia with an optional upgrade to the Pelican Bay for only $70 per person.  Departure is Thursday, August 30, returning Monday September 3.  Contact Chris Shourot at 826-3945 to sign up.
