A new Club Officer position is created.

At our last meeting, a motion was passed to create a new club officer position of Trip Information Officer.  The duties of this position will be fulfilled by the club's Vice President, Bob Miller.

The Trip Information Officer (TIO) is responsible for ensuring that dive club members signing up for club sponsored dive boat trips receive all available information about the trip such as:

  • Destination
  • Date
  • Time of departure
  • How to sign up
  • Cost of trip
  • How to make deposits / payments
  • Cancellation policy / forfeiture fees

For each club sponsored dive trip, the TIO will develop an information brochure  that will be provided to each member when they sign up for a dive trip.  In addition, the information will be provided in electronic e-mail form to every club member on the e-mail distribution list.

The Trip Information Officer can be reached by email at
diveinfo@divealot.com.  During the daytime hours, the clubs President, Jim Cook, can be reached at 826-3945 for information on signing up for dive trips.

As before, all monetary payments for club sponsored dive trips are provided directly to the club's Treasurer, Chris Shourot.

A second motion passed at our last club meeting was the creation of a default payment and cancellation policy for club sponsored dive trips.  Unless otherwise stated in the Information Brochure, payment in full is required when signing up for
club sponsored dive trips.  If you must cancel your trip plans after signing up, it is your responsibility to resell your reservation.  The DMAV cannot be responsible for reselling your reservation, but if requested, will send out an email notification to all other club members that your reservation is for sale.
