DMAV 2005 Annual Club Cookout (con't)

The date for this year's annual cookout has been set for June 4 at Lake Rawlings.  The cost to each member is $25 for divers and $12 for swimmers and guests.  The price includes the cost of admission to Lake Rawlings, the DMAV treasure hunt, and cookout.  The treasure hunt will include many activities and prizes (one prize per person).
Introduced last year,  the underwater Capture the Flag contest will be returning this year.  Participants are divided into two opposing teams (Red & Blue) each with its own Team Flag to guard.

The flag for each team is anchored deep within their territory, and the object of the game is  to infiltrate the opposing team's territory, capture their flag, and return it to your own territory without being caught yourself.
Each diver wears, on the back of their tank,  a smaller flag displaying their team's colors.

Taking an invading diver prisoner is accomplished by snatching that diver's flag, and sending him out of the game, without losing your own tank flag.

Each team places one or two divers 15 feet away from the team's flag to act as guards, but at any time these guards can go on the offensive and enter the opposing team's territory.  However, once across the dividing line between the territories, they too can be captured by enemy divers!   You won't want to miss this exciting game so make sure you plan on attending this years cookout.

Contact Lake Rawlings directly (804 - 478-9000) to make camping reservations or the Nottoway Motel (804 - 478-4421) for motel reservations.

To help make this years cookout as successful as in previous years, the cookout committee needs volunteers to help with set-up, tear down, and coordinating game activities.  Sign up at our next months club meeting to be a volunteer and help support your club.
